SEMAYAT!! like totally!!
we're witnessing the only day (in 365 days) where Singaporeans feel patriotic and politically apathetic! WOOOO!! (aside from other fireworks showcase days)
haha anw when the 'home' song was being sung, my dad was singing along to it.. then it came to this part.. where they sang: "where the river always flows" and my dad went - DAH!! FLOODED! OVERFLOW! - HAHHAAAA!! APT LAH SEY! then subsequently he sang that line as "where the river overflows!" rather enthusiastically.. HAHAHA!!!!
the best part however was when they had the fireworks display; my dad ran upstairs, took his canon camera, rewind the recording, and started clicking photos OF THE TELEVISION OMGGGGG! and he kept rewinding till he got like 100 shots; and so we were like 10 minutes behind the REAL performance by the time he finished! DOTS! so we only got to know the tank came by our estate 10 minutes after it passed HAHAHAHHA!! lambat setapak!
anyway, the ndp committee needs to fire the noob who was incharge of costumes cos SERIOUSLY, they were H-I-DEOUS!!! it was a nonsense attempt at being bold. not that it matters firing the person now, but we shall prevent future eyesores yes? =D!
THAT ASIDEEEEE, we went to bintan/tanjung pinang over the weekendddd! it was an errrr.... eye-opening experience ... like literally.. cos for both nights, we couldn't sleep for various reasons... mostly annoying ones. hahaaa!!
so we reached bintan, and err our driver told us that there smth wrong with the hotel booking and everywhere else was fully-booked so we had to settle for one which was erm maybe a 1-star hotel? so we lodged in and as soon as we entered the room, we saw THIS.
oh my crap. so the cockroach was dead.. hoorah! the worst was over (or so we thought!). lateee into the night, i woke up to this fluttering sound and i thought it was my dad who went to the toilet... THENNNN i saw this black thing moving on the white tiles of the room and disappeared and i was like OH MY EFF! (cos the only species worth using the f-word on are the cockroaches)
as soooooon as we switched on the lights, i heard flutterings RIGHT BEHIND ME WHERE THE BEDPOST WAS AND GUESS WHAT WAS THERE OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! the cockroach was HALF the size of my palm and we (my mom and i) were jumping from one corner of the room to another cos IT CAN FREAKING FLYYYYYY OMGGGGG!!! seriously, these cockroaches are the bane of my existence. then we (my dad only actually HAHA) started hitting it with a shoebox and it disappeared.. THIS IS NOT GOOD! I WANT TO SEE IT DEAD! AHHHHH!! so my dad was pretty convinced that it was dead and went to hiding before dying (DOTS?!) and went to bed. I, on the other hand, stayed awake throughout most of the night. so first night GONE. on hindsight, the cockroach didn't make its appearance known to us again. =)
oh and there were ppl running in the room right above ours and dragging chairs for fun. my mom was making a fuss out of it and there we were trying to signal her to keep quiet cos those err... athletes... might not like it. so the ruckus continued from 10pm to 4am.
THAT ASIDEE!! let's go into merrier things we did! HEHE! we went SHOPPINGGG!! and while we were at the supermarket, we saw THIS!!
HAHAHAAAAA!! meeks bought it.. i wonder who shes trying to get to turn homo. teehee.
then along the streets, they were selling THESE... (i hope you frown at this)
HOW DO YOU EAT SEAHORSES!!! they are the messengers of POSEIDON! (reference: the little mermaid)
turtle eggs. murdering endangered species.. tskkk!! ass.
then they had those pushcarts selling kerepeks and my mom kept pestering us to buy her banana chips HAHA! kemarok or whats! so we bought one BIGGGGGG bag of banana chips.
and not forgettingggg, the ikan bilis... HEAPS OF IKAN BILIS WOO! i bet will my cats salivate at this HAHA!
while waiting for our parents to shop at the shops we dont intend to buy stuff at, we did our specialtyyyyy: camwhoreeee! WOO!OO!OO!O!O!O!O!OO!O!!
then we made our way to Agro beach resort.. the photos are in my dad's cam.. and my dad's editing national day photos (the ones taken from the tv) so i shall upload them later HAHA!
then we headed back home.
