yay ok im feeling better from ranting to half the world about the chicken incident. HEHE. so now im in a good shape to blog abt last night!! WOO. anw my maid (yea the same one) has an offday every fortnight./.. so since ive finished my A's, why not i commemorate the joyous weekend by doing smth that i enjoy doing yes? WOO COOKING. yeah! anw i planned this super elaborate 8dish dinnerwhich took like ages to plan bcoz it had to be perfect see? hehe.
so i started cooking at 12pm! (yeah i know too early for cooking DINNER right. but i think anytime before that and dinner would have been at 9pm) heh. But anw, i started with the ICECREAM CAKKEEEE!
1) Ice Cream Cake with Butterscotch Sauce (nigella's express!)
-the most fattening dish i think. with cream in the icecream and cream in the sauce- BUT NICEEEE bcoz it gives u this sugarrush. but i think next time i shall buy the more expensive vanilla icecream bcoz this one melts quickly.
then after i put the icecream to freeze,
2) Macaroni Salad
- this one is also fattening bcoz i used mayo and tunainmayo. but it has celery. ok bad attempt to balance it out. heh. this one nothing special. we do it all the time.
3) Bourguignonne Sauce
- haha ok dont be awed by the name bcoz it's pretty much black pepper sauce with some extra herbs dumped into it which makes it NICEEERRRR than blackpeppersauce. and it's like VERY NICE to have ur own herb garden bcoz halfway through cooking u go out and pluck herbs and leaves. hahaaa nice right! thats one thing i enjoy abt cooking. hehe
4) Mushroom Sauce
- THIS ONE IS MY VERY OWN RECIPE!! and i thought it'd be a disaster but it turned out FINE! and today, the left overs, i added hot water and put some cornstarch and chickenstock and TADAAAA it became mushroom soup. AND IT BEATS CAMPBELL LIKE THATTTTT.
5) Pumpkin Soup.
- i like this one veryyy much. it's like the easiest shit to cook BUT given u dont peel the pumpkin urself bcoz i wrestled mine why trying to strip it. and i cut myself while doing this. so pumpkin peeling is a BITCHHHHHHH but then cooking the puree and evrything is sooo niceeee. and it tastes so heavenly. im glad timmy enjoyed it =DD
6) Baked Potato
- fattening. carbs. mayo. cheese. yeah just imagine.
7) Grilled Mushroom
- ah this one not bad. it's basically those huge mushrooms then u stuff mozarella and basil and evrythng and it's dripping with juice when u eat it so it's HEAVEENNNLY. yumyum. i like.
and lasttlyyy, (BUT DEFINITELY NOT THE LEAST, literally)
8) Chicken Maple (Nigella's Feast)
YUMYUMMMM. I prepared it the night before and marinated it overnight and when u bake it, the aroma of the cranberry + garlic + soy sauce + honey is like OOOOOOOOOOHH NICE! OH i collected the fat from the grill and was tempted to keep it to like fry stuff bcoz it's really nice. but tim told me that THAT might clog our arteries so nah. shall not. wasted. BUT i like the sweet tasting chicken.
YEAH OK thaaaaat took me 6-7hours to make! and another 1hour to err nicely put them on nice plates and reheat them and so on. that has been the best present to myself for post-As period. hehe. Anw, i shall thank my mom and dad for driving me to tampines Giant (the megaaa Giant) to buy all the stuff and spent like over 160bucks for the dinner. hehe im so grateful. MUACKS! and im so happy that effort dint go to waste. woohoo. i havent felt this accomplished all my life!
